I’ve got no time for the bitterness and anti-commercialism, the trite anti-Valentine’s Day backlash that’s finally becoming passé. Holidays are special. If we don’t mark the seasons and celebrate special days, then they all start to blur together. They’re supposed to be a chance to shine, to enjoy an unordinary day.

(Personally I don’t wait for holidays to have unordinary days, but it’s always fun to have an excuse.)
